I should introduce myself. My name is Penny and I joined this swap way back when it first started. I live alone with a fur toddler and have no family to speak of. Also, I am not Christian. I am Jewish but I love the lights, the decorations, the music, the food, the pressies and that wonderful Christmas spirit. If only that Christmas spirit could last all year the world would be a better place. For me Christmas is also a time to give back to all those who have helped me throughout the previous year. At Christmas I exchange gifts with a few friends and join in several swaps so I do get a few gifts to open on Christmas afternoon (I am not a morning person). I live in a small apartment with not much room for a tree now but I have lots of pretty and some special decorations saved to use when I am in a larger place. I still put out a few decorations. I even have a very tiny tree which I sometimes set up. I never removed the twinkling lights above my couch I put up one year. They provided such a nice atmosphere when I turned them on in evening, I left them up. I also have lights (not twinkling) in my kitchen which do double duty of increasing the light in the kitchen especially above the stove as well as making the kitchen look interesting. I have made many Christmas crafts and am an avid knitter. I also love to quilt and sew which I hope to do again when I am a larger place. I love swapping and take it very seriously. I look forward to spoiling my partner.
