Hi all you knitters.
I just got my partner and she lives in the US. Can anyone tell me if there are items that I am not allowed to send over? I am sthinking especially of sweets or other food.

As far as I know, the only thing you can't send are explosives and things that can be corrosive, like batteries. I've never had a problem recieving anything from an international source...the USPS is pretty good with getting stuff to us...sometimes can be slow as a turtle, but they get it here~
You can't send fruit or live plants, but you can send chocolate, hard sweets, biscuits etc. anything wrapped is fine.

I think you can check it out from your own post. At least here in Finland, I went to Itellas web site, wrote the destination country and got the list of non allowed items.
Check with your post office. A friend in New Zealand likes to send me sweets (I live in the U.S.)...Because of 9/11 you now must fill out a special form if your package has any type of food in it.
